Citroen has announced that British Sign Language (BSL) users will be able to benefit from additional savings across its range.
Launched as part of Sign Language Week (March 14 to 22), BSL users will now be able to benefit from the firm’s “Citroen and You’ scheme. Previously reserved for friends and family of Citroen employees, from today the scheme now allows BSL users to save up to an additional £1,200 off a brand new model from the French firm.
Offers extend across Citroen’s full passenger car line-up, including the electric e-C4, C4 Aircross Hybrid and C3 Aircross SUV. BSL users can review current offers online, configure their car and put it in their shopping basket. It’s here where they can enter their special promotional code that gives them the discount.
Citroen started its partnership with BSL last year, with the firm aiming to make itself more accessible to the deaf community, with 150,000 people using the method of communication across the UK.
It was also the first car manufacturer to work with SignLive, which uses video interpreters trained in BSL to help deaf and hard of hearing people communicate with a Citroen representative for advice and support. This can stem from booking servicing through to sales enquiries.
Eurig Druce, managing director of Citroen UK, said: “I am incredibly proud to extend ‘Citroën and You’ to all BSL users. We have made a conscious effort over the past year to ensure the UK’s deaf and hard of hearing community is able to access the same level of service that every other new-car buyer can experience, using the SignLive service.
“Extending ‘Citroën and You’ is just the next step as we work to expand the Citroën family. We hope this allows many more BSL users access to a great new Citroën vehicle.”
