Genesis has announced pricing for its new GV70 Shooting Brake – the first estate car in the South Korean firm’s line-up.
Joining the GV70 saloon, the Shooting Brake gets a striking design that undoubtedly makes it a far more exciting looking car than the regular four-door version. It’s also the brand’s first model to be designed purely for European markets, with all of Genesis’ other cars sold across the US and Asia.
Rivalling the Audi A4 Avant and Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake, the GV70 is priced from £35,250. Though full equipment levels haven’t been detailed, that starting price will buy a Premium Line model.
More upmarket Luxury Line versions are then priced from £40,250, while the top-spec Sport Line version comes in at £41,430.
Buyers have the choice of a turbocharged 251bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 199bhp 2.2-litre turbodiesel, with each sending power to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission. A more powerful V6 is planned for the future, though Genesis is yet to confirm whether any electrified options will be offered to customers.
As well as regular standard equipment, the G70 Shooting Brake will also come with the Genesis five-year care plan, which includes a warranty, servicing and roadside assistance as well as a courtesy car and over-the-air software updates for the period. The firm also says its cars also come with their own ‘personal assistant’, which is essentially where there is a single person assigned to help with any concerns you might have with the car.
