Ferrari has released a teaser image of its upcoming SUV, confirming that the car is heading into production
Predicted to be called Purosangue, the SUV’s outline has been posted to the Italian firm’s social channels alongside a caption that reads ‘you’ve heard the rumours… and we’re delighted to confirm that they’re true (some of them)’.
Ferrari has said that people should ‘stand by for a genuine game changer’ but, as yet, hasn’t released any further details surrounding the model. The firm has, however, said that the new model has a bloodline that can be ‘traced back through our 75-year history of innovation, evolution and uncompromising performance’.
It confirms months of speculation as to whether the new car would actually make it into production. However, Ferrari has been under increasing pressure to create its own SUV given the huge success that rival firms are having with their own models. Rivals include the Bentley Bentayga, Aston Martin DBX and Lamborghini Urus.
Ferrari has yet to confirm what engine will be used to power the Purosangue, but it’s likely that it’ll be either one of the firm’s existing V8 or V12 engines. There’s also the possibility of hybrid power being integrated into the system to help boost both power and fuel efficiency.
