Skoda’s range of cars has ballooned in recent years. Owing to an increase in the popularity of crossovers and SUVs, we’ve seen more of these types of vehicles added to the Czech firm’s line-up, while established estates and hatchbacks have continued to play a key role too.
It means that there’s more choice than ever. So let’s take a little look through Skoda’s current crop of new vehicles and see what each one has to offer.
Citigo-e iV
Things kick off with the pint-sized Citigo-e iV. It’s an electric car that is focused on simplicity and ease of use, which makes it a hit with both new drivers and those looking for a no-frills approach to motoring. It’s cleverly packaged, mind you, with a surprising amount of cabin space and a reasonably sized boot too.
There’s no longer a conventionally-powered version with a petrol engine, though an electric powertrain feels well-suited to the Citigo, while a range of over 150 miles will be more than enough for most drivers.
Fabia
The ever-popular Fabia is the second-smallest car in Skoda’s range, but it feels far more spacious than its relatively compact exterior dimensions would lead you to believe. It’s got some classy features, too, with highlights including LED headlights.
It’s got a decent boot, with a split-level load area giving added flexibility when it comes to storage. You can fold the rear seats down as well, boosting the Fabia’s practicality levels even further.
Scala
A relatively recent addition to the Skoda range, the Scala comes as a middle ground between the smaller Fabia and the larger Octavia. Again, thanks to clever packaging and the use of Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 platform, the Scala is able to offer far more space - both for the cabin and the boot - than you’d usually expect from a car of this size.
Available with a variety of engines, the Scala also features a tech-packed interior with highlights including an infotainment system with a screen of up to 9.2 inches in size alongside a 10.25-inch digital readout ahead of the driver.
Octavia
The Octavia has been a mainstay in Skoda’s range for decades now, offering value-for-money motoring with one eye on excellent build quality. The latest model is no different, and though it might feature more in the way of connectivity and systems than ever before, it’s still the spacious and practical model it always has been.
The most recent Octavia boasts a plug-in hybrid option now too, alongside ever-popular vRS performance variants.
Superb
If you’re after a spacious and well-finished hatch or estate car that won’t break the bank, then the Superb should be at the top of your list. It has won plaudits throughout the years for its ability to deliver excellent refinement for a price that puts many rivals to shame, while also offering a huge boot that will no doubt appeal to active families.
Like the smaller Octavia, the Superb has also been bolstered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, while a series of updates have ensured that it remains competitive against others in the segment.
Kamiq
Skoda’s Kamiq takes the place as the smallest SUV in the firm’s range, bringing an increased ride height in a car that takes up a more compact footprint. It features eye-catching split LED headlights up front, while around the back the Kamiq displays the Skoda name in large, chromed letters.
It’s also the first Skoda to receive dynamic front and rear indicators that ‘scroll’ when activated. They’re another touch that helps to give the Kamiq a high-end feel.
Karoq
Up next is the Karoq which - you guessed it - is the second-largest SUV in Skoda’s line-up. Though it focuses on those driving in urban environments, the fitment of intelligent four-wheel-drive and off-road modes means that, should you need it to, the Karoq can handle some of the rough stuff too.
It also incorporates clever VarioFlex seats, which allows you to individually move the second row of chairs, fold or remove them entirely - opening up a huge amount of load space.
Kodiaq
The Kodiaq kicked off Skoda’s SUV offensive and what a way it was to get things going. With space for seven, it’s a car that will no doubt prove a hit with larger families or those who frequently drive lots of people. The cabin is both plush and hard-wearing while incorporating all manner of storage solutions that will help keep the interior of the car clutter-free.
It’s available with a good range of engines, too, while plenty of different trim levels ensure there’s a Kodiaq to cater for all budgets.
Enyaq iV
The Enyaq iV is the latest car to join Skoda’s range. Arriving as the firm’s first electric SUV, it’s a mark of the firm’s push for electrification. Capable of returning up to 323 miles on a single charge - depending on specification - the Enyaq iV looks to be the EV Skoda that can be used every day.
A dynamic Sportline trim level was added recently too, while all cars benefit from a large central touchscreen and a mostly button-free cabin.
